Comment on "Next-to-leading order forward hadron production in the small-x regime: rapidity factorization" arXiv:1403.5221 by Kang et al
In a recent paper (arXiv:1403.5221), Kang et al.proposed the so-called
"rapidity factorization" for the single inclusive forward hadron production in
pA collisions. We point out that the leading small-x logarithm was
mis-identified in this paper, and hence the newly added next-to-leading order
correction term is unjustified and should be absent in view of the small-x
factorization.Comment: 3 page
Successive Cancellation List Polar Decoder using Log-likelihood Ratios
Successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding algorithm is a powerful method
that can help polar codes achieve excellent error-correcting performance.
However, the current SCL algorithm and decoders are based on likelihood or
log-likelihood forms, which render high hardware complexity. In this paper, we
propose a log-likelihood-ratio (LLR)-based SCL (LLR-SCL) decoding algorithm,
which only needs half the computation and storage complexity than the
conventional one. Then, based on the proposed algorithm, we develop
low-complexity VLSI architectures for LLR-SCL decoders. Analysis results show
that the proposed LLR-SCL decoder achieves 50% reduction in hardware and 98%
improvement in hardware efficiency.Comment: accepted by 2014 Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and

BFKL and Sudakov Resummation in Higgs Boson Plus Jet Production with Large Rapidity Separation
We investigate the QCD resummation for the Higgs boson plus a high jet
production with large rapidity separations in proton-proton collisions at the
LHC. The relevant Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) and Sudakov logs are
identified and resummed. In particular, we apply recent developments of the
transverse momentum dependent factorization formalism in the impact factors,
which provides a systematic framework to incorporate both the BFKL and Sudakov
resummations.Comment: 10 pages, 1 figur
Analysis of the Chinese provincial air transportation network
The air transportation system is of a great impact on the economy and globalization of a country. In this paper, we analyze the Chinese air transportation network (ATN) from a provincial perspective via the complex network framework, where all airports located in one province are abstracted as a single node and flights between two provinces are denoted by a link. The results show that the network exhibits small-world property, homogeneous structure and disassortative mixing. The variation of the flight flow within 24 h is investigated and an obvious tide phenomenon is found in the dynamics of Chinese provincial ATN for high output level of tertiary industry. Our work will offer a novel approach for understanding the characteristic of the Chinese air transportation network.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
